Never heard any of his music (or I wasn't aware he was the artist). Howevewr I genenrally don't like Hip Hop or Rap as I find it extremely repetinive and unoriginal. Of course there are few exceptions.

You obviously [blindly] throw him in with many other rappers out there... cause if you really knew his work, he's head and shoulders above just bling bling and 3/4 naked chicks in his videos. For one, ask Britney Spears if it's easy to sing and dance simultaneously. There's a reason she lip syncs.

Yes I have thrown him into that group - Ive heard his tracks being fired out by people driving around like there bad ass gangsters , and there's nothing great about his music to me whatsoever.

On the other hand, "heya" by OutKast is great Dont get me wrong, I do appreciate all kinds of music, just nothing I've heard of usher's really makes him stand out.

He used to be good on his first album (I think), that Babyface produced. There was a lot more guitar influence and it was actually good IMO. Now he is just like every other R&B act out there.
