So who else bought Tiger Woods 2005??

No Lifer
and so far I love it! although it still is a tad easy for me, as I was an expert on 2004 version. I havent tried thr "Tour Difficulty" level much, but from what I saw for playing it for a few holes, it makes the game ALOT harder. After 5 rounds I have a handicap of -16, and this is playing with my guy who hardly has any stats moved up 🙂. I have yet to get a bogey as well, and have probably 8-10 trophey balls already, including the "Aces Wild" (hole in one) and the "4 Eagles in a Round" as well.

the "Game Face 2" options I personally think aren't that great, unless you want to create an old person in the game (as they created all the older legends in the game). And i personally liked the 'create a character' option better in the 2004 versoin, because my character in this one I can't seem to get to look as close to me as I did in the 2004 one. And the 'create a swing' feature is kinda gimmicky.

i think this weekend, after I get paid, I am going to purchase XBox Live as well so I can show people accross the country who's boss in that game 🙂

So anyone else get it?

Was thinking about it. I have 2004 and love it. Questions for you: will my stats from 2004 get ported over to 05, or do I have to start over? And in your opinion, is it worth it if I already have 04?

no it won't port over your character, you will have to redo it. however you will get some bonus tthings, like money and sponsorships, depending on how well your character in 2004 is developted, which is kinda cool.

if you like 2004 I would say get 2005. as far as the gameplay goes, there is not much different at all, aside from the "Tour Difficulty" setting which makes it alot harder. it just makes it so you have to be more precise when pulling/pushing the analogue stick, and you can't put spin on the ball as easily, and not at all from the rough. it also takes away the '2 inches left, 2 feet short' thing when putting, and only shows the little white trail.

I would get it alone though just for the new courses. as i said, I only played 5 rounds, and they happened to all be the same course (1 legend challenge and 1 season tournament), and i really enjoyed the course. there are 9 total new courses. there are also alot of new features in the game, such as tiger proofing where you can modify an existing course, such as change the fairways, bunkers, greens, etc, and make the holes alot different/harder. also this one has xbox live capabilities which owns 🙂 just get it!

I got the XBOX copy last night. Seemed pretty good. I like some of the new courses.

The Tour Difficulty is nice. I was playing Lengends tour last night. Once I unlocked Tour Difficulty, I used it when playing the computer charaters. Gives you a bit more money and makes it a tad harder. I still didn't have any problems beating the lower guys. I've beaten 14 of the computer guys so far. Just building up my character. Haven't checked out Tiger Proofing, My Dream 18, or the PGA tour events yet. I like unlocking all the players first.

yea i seemed to do that last year, unlocking all the characters before starting the season, but then after doing that i realized how much more money was in the season. so thats why i am going to do alot of the season before i get to the characters, so i can build up my character a little more before i go to the legends tour. although, the first person i face was ridiculously easy heh ...

The 3rd player in each group starts getting more difficult. The first two in each group are really, really easy. (Check the purse amount to see which is next since it opens up 2 different levels of players after the 1st guy).

Not sure if it was all the EA game saves on my HD, but I seem to have bought more attributes quicker this year. I think I got $30,000 to start. Now, after only beating less than half the guys, I'm around 50% on everything and 90% on Driving Accuracy and putting.

Playing Tour Difficulty and getting 3-1 odds on your wager probably helps a bit as well.

I'll be getting it for PS2, hopefully later tonight. I may get the PC version too, just to see how the graphics are.

I have a buddy that has no consoles. He got the PC version last year and is still playing it. He loves it.

The course lists are different on PC and consoles. Just an FYI in case you didn't know.

I think you can do it either way. I'm not 100% sure though. I know you can use your mouse and pull back and then push forward.

How do they swing in the PC version. Do you slide the mouse or is it click-click-click?

yea you can do it either way, im positive. i hear though that the PC one is quite different than the console one, as it was last year also. i didnt play it so im not sure of the differences, but i heard the PC one was just all around more of a sim feeling than the console ones.

LOVED the PC version of '04 until I played Links '04 on the XBox which upped the anty a bit. So I was really looking forwad to the '05 version of Links... well that doesn't exist so I was then looking forward to the '05 version of Tiger and tried it out on the Xbox first. UGh I was NOT impressed with the Xbox version of '05 at ALL. I have the PC version on my desk at home... hopefully its better than the Xbox version is.

Thank God for freebies from EA Sports.

Now why isn't MS making links 05?!?!?!?

are you serious you liked links 04 on xbox ?!? I played that game and thought it was horrible.

I rented it it was pretty good, but I wish they had 16:9 support, its annoying when they're stretched, makes your club heads look real odd

*Other* than XBL support, which I don't use, I'm not seeing any compelling reasons to bump up to 2005 over 2004.

But I'm that way with a lot of the EA products. From year to year, there just aren't enough improvements to me to merit shelling out $50 for it.

*shrugs*

I agree IMO theres not enough improvement over 2004 to justify $50

from how much i have played 2004 and how little i have played 2005 so far, i can still tell you that the gameplay is virtually the same. the $50 will be more for new features and more courses. however the one thing i LOVE in this game is how they have the whole legends thing. that is one thing I have wanted for years, to play against/with Nicklaus, Palmer, etc ... cant wait until I face em 🙂

but for those of you hesitating to upgrade, i can completely understand that. i just enjoy the new courses and new challenges in order to get my character completely built up and get %100 in the game.
