Wife wants to sign up for Verizon's 1 price thing... direct tv for 4 rooms, tivo ($99 - 50 rebate), and phone for $115 a month... worth it?
Better deals?

edit: oh, and verizon's dial-up service for internet... DSL available around April.
No broadband til then.

Does that phone include unlimited long distance? Which directTV package? How much for additional rooms?

I pay $57/month for total choice plus with locals, tivo and 2 other receivers.

EDIT: forgot to say, I went dircetly through DirecTV

Basically you get a couple bucks off your DTV bill. If you were going to get both services, why not?
Anyway, I signed up for one of those Total Freedom packages and then decided I didn't need all that unlimited LD and whatnot, so I bumped it down to a more basic plan and found that I am still eligible for the discount from DTV. Score!

I THOUGHT that I was only going to get one bill for both and have trouble getting support and stuff, but I still get 2 bills and I work directly with Verizon for phone issues and directly with DTV for sat issues. I'm happy.

Sounds good to me. I bummed that I'll have to wait for DSL, but at least it's only a couple of months. We checked the neighbors phone # on Verizon - it says "DSL Available" - we asked them about it - what they MEANT was "yeah, it says that, DSL will be available to that neighborhood in a few months."

Bellsouth is doing the same. You save up to $5 a month depending on what phone plan you are on.
