So, who can take care of the illegal immigrant problem?

any attempt to curb illegal immigration seems to get the ACLU's attention. Even when cities and counties go after businesses profiting off of it. Well there does seem to be a specific thing that gets the ACLU's attention - going after people who provide housing to illegals.

I guess its OK to take out businesses employing them but heaven forbid you go after the people "nice enough" to rent to them. Sorry, what part of illegal don't they understand.

Frankly I think they should take the businesses away if they knowningly court illegals.

Then I recommend you contact your elected officials to get the laws in your burg changed to suit your ideals. Until then, I think the ACLU is working to protect the rights guaranteed by the Constitution.

Why does an invading army have rights?

Illegals are an invading horde wanting to steal our country. I think politicians just want to find a way to make them pay more tax.

Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.

I think these are just people that want a better life. Spend some time in a seriously impoverished place and tell me you wouldn't do the same.

I can tell you without spending any time in an impoverished place that I would do the same. That doesn't make it ok, and that doesn't mean that we should embrace it.

I know that if I was starving I would break into someones house and take some food, does that mean that I should leave my front door open and a big sign saying "free food for the poor"?

Your shareholders won't let you do that.

"It's the economy, stupid"*

*the aforementioned quote in no way implies that the original poster is or is not stupid.

there.

If we shoot them as we catch them that would eliminate the problem too.

Maybe we should shoot the both illegal and the employer..... that would defintely cover all the bases.
