I love my One X. Amazing screen. Better design overall than the gs3 (minus expandable memory).

I've used the OneX and have a GS3 and I could not for the life of me get the OneX as smooth as my GS3. Something about Tegra 3 just isn't quite all there. My Asus TF700 has the same issue of being slightly off in terms of response and snappiness. The screen on the OneX is better I will say that. Still, the SDCard slot is a must for me at this point. I have all my music and all my backups on the SDCard so I can swap between devices.

I could live with the OneX sure, but something about the GS3 just feels right when I compared them.

The ATT One X doesn't have a Tegra 3.

My friend could totally use Android no problems.

I personally kinda prefer the Krait on US versions since batt life is for sure good. The 16gb limit for her i think is fine. My biggest issue with the One X is HTC's memory management and how it closes apps to keep memory free for Sense which imo is horrible. I guess they released an update that made it less needy, but still.

I have an upgrade available too but i am content with my Atrix 2 atm. Ultimately the S3 would be ideal. The new One X+ looks very interesting assuming the battery life is still good, but it still only has 1gb of ram if sense is going to be a hog.

The ONe x is much better than the 4S. Better screen IMO with higher resolution (bigger too), more ram, faster CPU...

The big thing is the One X is more customizable. You're stuck with whatever apple tells you you can have with the 4S. With the One X you can root and flash custom roms and remove HTC Sense if you don't want it, sideload apps, make your homescrean more of a desktop experience. It also supports more video and audio formats since it's not tied to itunes.
Isn't the HTC One X version on AT&T locked down?

It is/was possible to unlock the bootloader on older versions.
There are newer batches of the phone in stores now with a a newer bootloader. These are locked and not sure if/when the bootloader will be unlocked.

So, yes and no. I don't have a one x, but this is what I read.

Yeah as was said above some versions are able to be unlocked. It's entirely possible there will be a method for the new ones but with pretty much everything in the development community, if they are unlocked and rooted they aren't going to do much to help those with new devices or new updates who didn't have their devices unlocked before.

Case in point, the Asus Transformer Infinity just got Jellybean but if you had not rooted prior to the firmware update there is no 100% confirmed way to root it once it's installed. The method most mentioned is to flash back to the older one and then root. Few developers are going to work on something it is assumed most people would have done from the start with available tools.

There is no new method AFAIK.
The only way to unlock is if your HTC One X shipped with ICS 4.0.3(v1.85)

If your phone came with 4.0.4(v2.2), you're f*ked.
If your phone came with 4.0.3(v1.85), and you accepted an OTA[ICS 4.0.4(v2.2)] update before rooting it, you're f*ked.
The only people that aren't locked down are those that got the phone early upon release with ICS 4.0.3(v1.85) and did not accept the OTA update.
If you're buying a new AT&T One X today, chances are your phone will have ICS 4.0.4

There is 40 pages detailing this specific issue on XDA.

Just bought a one x about a week ago for $320 pretty much brand new off of craigslist running off of straight talk. So far so good. I've tried most of the custom roms but I prefer
Clean Rom 5.0 the most... I actually do like Sense 4.1. With its battery optimizations... it's been great so far!

Did you try the OneX with the 4.04 update? The phone became alot snappier after this update.
