Umm, DLP is best bang for buck...Especially Samsung units!

How you gone to the Home Theater forums to check and see what problems people have with this TV? If my current HDTV died, I'd get another CRT RPTV.

Who needs the new technology! I'll wait until SED is a reality (and cheap).

Ok, you show me where I can get an 80" DLP for $2k

I almost pulled the trigger on a Mitsubishi Diamond 80" before x-mas. Yes, it was really $2k.

Some of us prefer not having to turn our family room into the dungeon of darkness just to watch TV.

And some of us like a theatrical atmosphere. He did want someone to show him an option, so I gave it to him.

New w/o box is not the same as new in a box from a retail store.

Based on what I've seen I'll still take the Mitsu. Replacing bulbs is for suckers.

Just trying to pick out a good 720p DLP. You can get one for much cheaper and buy some replacement bulbs while you're at it for $2k.

You just asked where you could get one. I'm not telling you to get it.

Fair enough but you can't really compare a projector (only) to a RPTV. I mean, there are other costs like a screen (or the appropriate paints) and what not.

You don't need to get a screen if you have a nice wall (or you can make a DIY screen for very cheap) but you're right.

After my experience with Hitachi, I'll never buy a Hitachi tv again. To summarize it one sentence, I bought a Hitachi hdtv and had to exchange it 4 times because of various defects in each one before I decided to get my money back.
