Not going to happen until there are two engines with the jetpack able to fly safely on one. The engine fails on that and it will have the aerodynamic properties of a brick. Which is what the pilot will shit right before he hits the ground and dies. Cute as a demo, but still lightyears away from usable.

They are FAA approved, and they are selling them to private citizens. Thats usable. Cost effective? Not so much.

Excuse me, I should have said "no usable for anyone with a brain". I keep forgetting those are not required equipment here.

But it has a roll cage and a parachute as safety features!

Keep in mind you cant just land and takeoff wherever you want with this.. There are still regulations for where you can land and take off an "ultralight aircraft". Plus you still have to deal with airspaces; which in many cities can be a major pain in the ass

I'm willing to bet the Martin Jetpack is safer then the average automobile, and that a pilot of one is probably a lot more competent than the average driver though. :p

Yep, their site says its not approved for urban airspace. Kinda restricting.
