The guide has been wrong before . . . I am glad I didn't wait . . . my 2.80c P4 has been happily o/c'd to 3.4Ghz at default for the past 2 weeks . . . sometimes it pays NOT to wait.Originally posted by: Caminetto
Well, according to the Anandtech Feb. price guide we were to expect price drops last week, I quote - "The official AMD price cuts will come on the 15th, but vendors usually jump the gun by a week or so. Although we don't know exactly how much we will see in price drops, we can probably safely assume the A64 3000+ will duck under $200 to get competitive with the Pentium 4 2.8C. The rest of the line should move as well."
Now I wonder if we will see much of anything in lowered prices, as yesterday's Reuters quote of AMD's new marketing campaign:
"a new pricing structure that takes the emphasis off rock-bottom price tags".

I'll hold out another day or so for the price cut... I have faith it will come
