Seriously, Malone is still damn good. They would have lost to the Spurs I think if not for Malone's defense and offense, and his
2 on 2 game with Bryant. Payton honestly is still good. Who carried the Lakers to a winning record with Kobe, Shaq, and Malone were
out during the regular season? People seem to forget Payton was the one who kept the boat from sinking in the first place.
It's just that Payton needs to offense to go through him. Thats been the problem with the Lakers. Their offense takes their point guard out of the equation. Kobe handles the ball and Shaq does the post up. Then when Payton gets outscored the media is all over him. to me, that is not fair at all. It is the way the Lakers offense was designed.

it's sweet justice that the Pistons are the team that will prohibit Malone from ever winning a title.
