I have been trying to find it everywhere, but i cant seem to find linspire 5.0 anywhere ! it was my favorite linux OS because it was so cool, and had a very mac-like interface.

Anyone know where i could find it?

Thanks

It shows up as torrents in a Google search but those might not be legal copyright-wise.

I got my only vacation from here for posting a coupon code to download Linspire free :^D

It was a completely unimpressive distro. The closed environment of Windows, without the great software selection. Not much point imo.

Doesn't really matter. That's the good thing about a VM, if you don't like it you can change really easily. I'm actually posting this from inside an Ubuntu VM right now. Thinking of trying something like Mandriva or OpenSUSE soon...

Yea, best varies per person. If one were objectively the best, there would only be one distro. Go to distrowatch.com, and check out some of the higher rated distros. I like a Debian base, and currently run Ubuntu on all my boxes, and am currently testing Debian on a flash drive. I'll likely switch to Debian when it comes time to install.

I just setup Gnome3 from Debian experimental and I think I like it better than Unity, it definitely seems more functional to me with the limited exposure that I've had to both so far.

There's aspects of both Unity, and Gnome3 I like. It's a shame they couldn't get along better. I think the end product would be better combining their ideas, and expertise. Then again, maybe not. Ubuntu design is being led by Mac Users/devs. It looks like Apple more and more with each release :^/

Yea, I'm hoping they'll either fixup Unity to be more useful, configurable, etc or drop it for gnome-shell at some point but I suppose that depends on how much NIH syndrome they have at the time. =)

And I don't mind them stealing some ideas from OS X and Windows, but the single menu bar is not one that should've been poached. It's a terrible idea on OS X and it's a terrible idea on Linux too.
