What happened to the new Detonator drivers?

I found this in the forums over at Zoiah's,
As announced, NVidia wanted originally publish the detonator 7,27 with Hidden Surface removal (HSR) support for GeForce cards today. A direction change of NVidia led however to the fact
that it will not release and disclaim the detonator 7,27 drivers. The reason for this direction change is probably because of the work on the detonator 7,35 , whose HSR support is more or less limited
without reason on the NV20. The GeForce2 could do HSR by small cheats with limited
hardware support, but that would improve the performance of older cards and world naturally shrink the performance distance to the NV20 somewhat. Following this presumption the detonator 7,27 is held back from marketing purposes or disclaimed completely. But coworkers of ELSA and NVidia acknowledged
indirectly that this detonator exists. The moreover NVidias statement that the
detonator 7,27 never existed, does not make a sense, since this would mean that
one branches directly to newer version numbers. If experiences mean after,
however each increase of the version number, similarly as with Windows means
that a new compiling of the source code took place and thus each detonator was
existent driver version. NVidia will publish later version the detonator 7.xx, since
they are necessary for the NV20. Release with the official NV20 would be thus conceivable, but no warranty.
So looks like we wont see an official release of new drivers til the NV20 comes out.
