Verify the monitor connector hasn't worked a little loose.

Been running fine for about a year. Haven't touched hardware in the past month.

Sometime in the middle of the day today, it started getting dancing pixels in darker scenes.
I've powered off/on a couple times to no avail.

Would re-seating the card do anything, or is this just indicative that a part (VRAM?) has failed?

Never, worse case scenario it is out of warranty and I buy a new one in cash/credit rather then RMA it for a free replacement.

Also OP, your first post is a mess and I am not sure what you are trying to say. If you want meaningful input might want to clarify things

I started to post this message as a question, thinking my video card was failing.

Just before I submitted the reply, I thought to verify the monitor was securely screwed into the video card; it was not.

I screwed it in and it's fine.

I've had this happen to me, sucks, but a relief when you realize the problem :)

Made sense to me, and one of the reasons I like HDMI/DP. I used to have a VGA extension cable that would throw the tint off towards blue, went crazy diagnosing it, before I tried isolating the extension cable.

so... just so I understand. there is absolutely nothing wrong with your video card, you had a loose cable, you fixed it, and problem solved and nothing is wrong now?

If that is the case you might want to ask a mod to close this thread.
