So when do MEN officially stop growing?

Is there a way to tell when you're going to stop? Or can anybody have a spontaneous growth spurt? I really want a few more inches in me (height of body - and nothing else, punks). I heard 21? Is that true? So I still have 2 more years? And are these close years to 21 not as effective for growing as the adol. years?

I thought I heard 21-23.....but I dunno. If your one of the type who grew rapidly and are already tall, dont count on it. If you grew momentarily but have not reached your intended height (somehow...like smoking or drinking caffeine) then there is a larger chance.

Toe-nails actually grow during the whole time you are alive...
Hair keeps growing when you are dead, provided it is damp and moist...

Your not that short man...

I'm like 5'9 and I was *supposed* to be 6-6'2 :( but it's my fault because I party hardied and drank TONS of caffiene during my teen growth years.

I'm working hard to get the extra intended inches, and it seems to be working. Just eat lots of fatty foods, sleep as much as possible, and stay away from caffiene/nicotene.

I'm 18 btw...does anyone think I'm stupid for trying to get those extra few inches even at only 18?

you might squeeze out 3 more inches before you are 21. height stops growing usually after 21 years of age.

When you're done puberty, you're done growing. At least they said so in my cultural anthropology class. This is why males are taller on average than females, because males are done puberty later, usually 19 at the latest. At this point your bones set and growth is no longer possible. So sorry, you won't be growing anymore in the vertical direction ( unless you are not human or a freak of some kind ;))

Suprisingly, most animals grow for 1/6 of their maximum lifespan. If you calculate for us, we should be living til 120. Too many Big Macs I think. And I heard that men's beard/body hair gets thicker until they're 35. Anyone know if that's true?

I wouldn't put your money on it. Most guys I know haven't grown an inch since 10th grade. Guys do keep growing till their 18, but the rate of growth drops off sharply after you're 15-16. There are instances where people grow in their 20's, but this typically only happens to people who were malnourished as children or those suffering from hormone disorders.

Your best bet? Get some Doc Martins.

Then, it unfortunately sounds like your growth is done :(

Actually...how tall are your parents? Siblings? Relatives? That can impede it.

I grew and made it to 5'9 by 16, so I seem to be a late bloomer. Factor in I *was* supposed to be a 6' to 6'2 guy, I was a huge baby
(9 pounds 5 ounces), and my dad and brother are 6', and I feel I have a chance.
