So, when did gambling become legal across the country, anyway?

A few years ago, you could only gamble in Nevada and New Jersey, right? Now there are casinos almost everywhere. Did I miss a memo or something?

So it was allowed everywhere by the Bush government? Guess it must be something Christian then, to gamble. Strange, can't remember the Bible stating you should throw away your money on gambling.

Its not, unless you include lotterys. There are still states that wont allow any type of casinos. Texas doesnt because the fear it would kill the lottery(not like the lottery is doing that good anyways). Arkansas fears crime would increase.

It's not allowed everywhere you tard. I bet your a 17 year old kid who thinks he can gain some "street cred" by bashing Bush and/or Christianity whenever possible. To answer Fred's question it's allowed on Indian Reservations. I'm not sure if the Casinos that are on Riverboats are run by Indian Tribes or not, unless the River is somehow "nobody's land"

I know they used to have slots in Maryland back in the 50's and 60's. The money went into education. AFter slots went away, the education system also declined. Coincidence?

More and more popping up in California every year.
I'm all for it, if they pay their taxes to reduce our deficit.

The lure of easy money into the state coffers (lottery & gaming taxes) and sucker money for the population.

There are only a very few states that do not have legalized gaming of any sort.

Hawaii and Utah are two; there may be one of two others.

This has been happening for the past 20-30 years.
Started with the lotteries, and then when AC went legit, everybody started looking for loopholes.
Time to wake up.

um i doubt religion has much to do with if bush would legalize it. maybe it'll be legal in CA soon, if arnold cant extort more money from the tribes to fix our budget.
