So, when are the prices on the 6600GT AGPs going to drop??

I thought the prices would drop to be the same as the PCI-E versions after been on the market for a bit, but this dosn't seem to be the case.

Also, whats the relase date of the 6600 AGP??

The AGP version costs more to make due to the PCI-E to AGP bridge chip. This was also the reason for the slightly slower memory on the AGP version compared to thePCI-E version.

What's the release date for the 6600 AGP ? Its been out.

Not until ATi releases a card to better compete with it. And, yes, AGP demand will continue to be higher than PCIe demand--especially at the midrange pricepoint--for a while longer. PCIe GTs sell for less both b/c there's no bridge to sell, but also b/c there just aren't as many PCIe systems to find a home in.

Wow, thanks. I stand corrected. Did see on Chaintechs website that they had one but can't seem to find it anywhere. I see the XFX card on newegg is 256MB. Not sure if I need that much. I think I'll keep looking for a 128MB card and if I don't find one then this one will be it.
