I was planning on upgrading from 1080p to 4K myself ;)

Seriously, though... got any big plans that you want to share with the group? I promise that I'm not going to dig up this post come December 2020 to see if you followed through with them... or will I?

My new year's resolution is to climb every mountain while solving the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture.

Work out in January and February.

I figure I should work out at least 2 months a year. Then Winter will become Spring and I count yard work as working out. And then Fall doesn't matter.

I'm thinking about a career change from IT to BEC (business efficiency consulting).

I've been in the world of computers for 15+ years & have been working 60 to 80 hours a week for about ten of those years (to be fair, I've got ADHD & like to be busy, because I get really bored easily), between corporate jobs & freelancing. I'm considering a chance of scenery both to do something different & to free up more time to spend with my family & on personal pursuits. A 40-hour workweek would be nice! Plus BEC is a bit like IT - virtually every business out there needs one & benefits from having one, particularly because the bigger a company gets, the more inefficient they become. Plus with staying freelance, I could keep the flexibility that I enjoy. It'd be a pretty big career shift, as computers are what I've done almost my entire professional life, but I've gotten pretty good at productivity over the last several years & have done some trial-runs at a few of my existing customers recently with good success, so I think this may be the year that I make the switch!

I usually don't do these but I decided to this year. Mine is to gain weight. I've wanted to do it for years but it's gonna be so damn hard that I kept just putting it off and not really trying.

But over New Years I finally setup the blender I bought in 2018 to make (calorie and workout) shakes. LOL... it was just sitting in the box in my closet since I bought it. Oh well. So we'll see how it goes. I think it'll be harder than quitting smoking but maybe not as bad as quitting drinking.

Lose 350lbs. Catch up on my child support. Serve out my sentence. Stop the voices in my head. Pick up a crafting hobby.

In general, I just want to do more with my life, I have lot of hobbies and stuff that I've been meaning to get into and not actually getting into. I've become too complacent with my life situation (everything going decent) that I'm not doing anything new. I want to get more into electronics, get back into programming projects, learn more stuff in general, maybe even get into ham radio. I need to actually pursue one or more of those and do something. Ultimately I want to take a project and turn it into an income source, as it would be nice to be more self sufficient.

This is more of a 10 year plan but I do eventually want to move out of the city and buy off grid land to live on. Costs of living keep going up and it's not sustainable if I want to be able to do more fun things. All my money just goes straight to paying bills. My long term goal is to live off grid but still have an income so the money can go towards fun stuff like toys. So this year I really want to kickstart that. Maybe buy land, and start getting more serious about a source of secondary income.

You might kind of combine the two to great effect. You're hell of impressive in terms of all you do. A retooling of your career perspectives does seem like a great idea, of course.

Not open a single thread started by Mayne. Think I have about a 6 month streak going on that and want to run it to 18 months.

I don't have any resolution and never do, but I am going to start eating better because Thanksgiving I have been eating like crap. But I've somewhat bulked up a bit which is good too. But I can barely see my abs now so I need to get rid of a bit of fat in the section.

I can't wait till like mid of January when all the resolution people have given up cause they didn't lose the 80lbs that took them 5 years to put on, in 2 weeks.
