uninstall old drivers and install new one??
or
just install over the old drivers??

is there any other way to install them??

any help would be great!!

thanks!!

Good question. When I uninstall my old drivers completely (which is by far the best way to do a driver change) and install the WHQL Forcewares, the are not recognized by my system. Dunno what's wrong with 'em, but something is.

EDIT: That was the International version. Just tried the newly posted english only version, and they work fine.

I just removed old drivers from Windows Control panel ,rebooted and installed the international version, had no problems with my GF2 TI.Nvidia do recommend you disable any anti-virus program before installing them.

I don't use Anti-Virus software. It's a waste of system resources, and largely useless besides.

And yes, uninstall the drivers in program manager first, reboot, use drivercleaner, then install new drivers.

Oooh, I just love the macho "No AV for me!" attitude of people like you. You'll strut around like you're all baddasssssssss and not losing any resources to puny AV until WHAM!!!!, you get hit and lose all your stuff. I'm willing to give up a few cycles to have the protection. Better safe than dead, I say.

I was in a rush, so I just installed them over the old ones and they're fine.

As long as you aren't looking at any pr0n or downloading any warez, you can avoid the bulk of most viruses by simply not opening any e-mail attachments that you didn't ask for. As long as he is really careful about opening attachements, and has a hardware firewall to keep the worms out, he's actually probably okay.

Now I myself run AV, but then again I tend explore the red light districts of the web a lot more...

Just install them. There's no need to uninstall the old ones... nVidia drivers play well together, it's not like switching from nVidia to ATI or visa versa.

This has nothing to do with dick size, so get over it already. Yes, I like conserving the resources by not running and Anti-Virus software, but that's beside the point.

First of all, avoiding viruses is ridiculously easy - don't download files whose content you're unsure of, and don't open any e-mails from addresses you aren't familiar with - especially if they have attachments.

Aside from that, my university has plenty of filtration software running on it's network to skim the crap out before it even gets to me - firewalls, virus software, etc.

Want to know the really shocking part? I even log on to Win 2k Pro as Administrator and surf the net, play online games etc, exposing all those security holes. Why? Because I'm lazy, and don't like to log off/back on for admin powers. OMG I r teh so l33t omglol11~!!~~1``~!

Look if worst comes to worst, F disk, Format C:, and a fresh windows install aren't exactly rocket science - I do that about twice a year anyway, just to make sure things are staying clean. Seeing as how I haven't had a single virus yet, I'm not too worried about AV protection.

Thanks for your troll....as you can see, I really like bait. You can get on with your life now.
