I think most of you geeks like this movie because none of you have balls and you can associate with Ed Norton's character. Just like the movie, Pitt's character is who you wish you could be like.
Oh no, back to the "everyone on OT is a geek except for me" argument... lol

well, no one except mostly everyone here regards it as one of their favorite movies (just look at the responses above), so that's the only reason that I could find. Heck, none of my friends or any else I know talk so highly of this movie
well, i guess since you draw conclusions based on our liking it, we are free to do the same based on your not liking it.

it's just a freakin' movie.

So.. your elitism assumes that *we're* the ones with a problem? Are you so sure you and your freinds aren't just morons? 😀

Read the book.

Read the rest of his books too. Especially Choke, that was a great book.

Fight Club was a great adaptation of his book though. I really liked it.

I found it implausible. Like a nutcase who beats himself up would ever become a leader of any type of organization. No guy would respect him enough to follow him.

The point of the fighting clubs was that it's a therapy. Once you experience the worse, everyday will be the best day of your life in comparison.

Wife and I didn't care for it that much either. People make it out to be some great movie, but it's just really not that great. The plot is just meh.

choke is freaking horrible. i would never recommend it to anyone.

moulin rouge was overrated. too much style, very little substance. course one could say the same for fight club i guess. but i found it meshed better. as for impact, well a film like that had big impact at its time. if you wait years to see it, you will have been exposed to much of what it brought out by others ripping it off already, so it won't be as great an experience.

Amazing plot, incredible actors, extreme violence, and I cannot forget the f*cking incredible soundtrack/music!!!

And you didn't like it why?

<-- favorite movie!
Are you serious? A guy beating himself and a fight club start because of it is a great plot?

<= Thought Fight Club was a dumbass movie due to the monsterous plot hole.

It's not meant to be "plausible". It's meant to make you think.

😕

If you were watching it expecting a cool fighting movie, you would be disappointed.
It's a really well made philosophical movie depicting people's obsession with consumerism.

Word. Just look at my post. Unfortunatly it's harder to shake it... to stop being a slave...

Why so? I thought parts of it were horrible/gross, the book was a very good read though. It seems though that with Choke he randomly opened an encyclopedia and ended up making an entertaining book that intertwined some of the most random sh1t you could imagine. I obviously think it worked out pretty good. 😀

One of the most over rated movies ever! Actors are great(no doubt), Acting was good, but the story is crap and the unfolding of the story is even worse.

********Spoiler**********

The Movie:

1) First half was good. The story is setup and the audience is drawn in
2) The twist. Right in the middle of the movie the plot twist occurs. This reveals the truth of what's going on
3) The Journey of Discovery. The main character is a slow witted idiot though. He goes from realization to realization without realizing what the audience already knows! :| The movie falls apart because every twist is a slight variation of the first, nothing changes. The last half of the movie is the same damn thing repeated ad nauseum. :| :|

Hrm, well it would appear as if you don't quite get the entire (hardly a slipping grip) idea/story behind the movie. It's alright, you can go on disliking it, making hasty generalizations and it won't bother me a bit. 🙂

So does that mean you can't shoot a big ass hole in your throat and walk it off?
