So what new flagship smartphones are coming to Verizon?

I'm eligible to upgrade next week. The current flagship on Verizon is the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, however I'm not sure if that will be a good upgrade if there's something new coming out within a month.

Is there something definite that's going to be released? I like rumors of the Samsung Galaxy S3, but if it's not coming out anytime soon, or something at least better than the Nexus within a month, I think I might as well go with the upgrade now.

Only thing coming out any time soon is the incredible 3. G nexus will probably be Verizon's top dog for at least until summer . Even the one x is delayed on att so the small chance that it could have a cdma lte version on Verizon would still be a while.

I'd like to know as well; I'm looking to upgrade me phone in the next month or so. Right now, I'm torn between the RAZR MAX or the iPhone 4s. Problem is, it seems like they release a new droid phone every month.

CTIA is in May and Verizon should announce some phones then. We'll see phones with the more LTE power-efficient MSM8960 SoC and MDM9615 baseband built on the 28nm process, it's a question of how much you think you'll be using LTE. Die-shrinks only come around once every two years at best and are usually worth waiting for. Plus, you'll have the option of picking from a wider variety of phones that have ICS from the get-go.

Always a new flagship coming by. Better question is, what would a new flagship bring at this point that you couldn't live without for 20 months? New iPhone I would guess should hit late summer, early fall? Might be made out of something durable this time, and come with NFC as a new feature. Otherwise, I would imagine the usual spec bumps for most everything. Don't think we'll see the textured screens or anything this year. WP8 models should release in the fall. Hoping VZW gets off their butt and gives me something to replace this Trophy with. A nice Nokia phone would be a start.

I would say if you can deal with Apple with all that involves (both good and bad), the 4s is pretty nice.
Thinking the GNex would be preferred on Android for the updated software...otherwise the Maxx should be good (anyone know what a Rezound with custom ROM gets for battery life?).
And for WP, well, don't waste the upgrade, buy off eBay and wait. That's what I did, been sitting on my last NE2 ($30 off) since December.

edit: I would totally sell this kidney of mine with perpetual kidney stones for a nice WP with the 4s camera in it.

I was eligible to upgrade on January 3rd from my original HTC Incredible and the only things holding me back from the Nexus are battery life and reports of radio issues. The Incredible has been a great phone so since it does not look like the One X is coming to Verizon anytime soon my sights are set on the Incredible 4G which is supposed to be out on April 26th. My biggest concern is that early Feb the specs were leaked and it does not appear to have the specs to be a "flagship phone". I want a phone that will not become obsolete after a few months or a year.

Yeah i'm in the same boat with an Incredible 1 ready to upgrade. The 16gb nexus also appeals to me since it's cheaper and I hardly store anything on my phone, but I might try and wait for the 28nm phones for battery life.

The Nexus does have some radio issues, quite a bit actually (since i own one, i know)

You should wait for the new phones to come out.

I wanted to wait for the next phone to come out, but ended up ordering the nexus from amazon wireless since they are only charging $100 for it next to Verizon's $300

Wow that's a good deal. My official upgrade date is the 15th, might have to check it out.

Yeah, I couldn't pass it up, I was sick of my old phone and I did want the nexus but didn't want to pay that much for it, so when Amazon put it up for that price I was like f it lol.
