On boot up win ME often, but not always, displays each or most of my partions (I have 4 c, d, e, and f) What is causing this? Can this be stopped? What am I missing?

Where does it display this? While it still hasn't loaded the GUI? I've never encountered that error before. You'd might check for virus's
 
Are you talking about scandisk running on these drives?
I seem to have a problem with my other drives having to run scandisk (other than my boot drive) after I shutdown...wierd but never really concerned me before...
 
No, scandisk isn't related to this. This "pops up" at the end of the boot, just before the start menu etc. Have to clear them out for a clear screen.
