hmmm.... well I sorta stumbled though higher ed. I wanted to be a othropod so I got my BS in Chemistry in spring of 1993. But after 3 months in DO school I left discusted (and broke). What to do now? I found after a year in analytical labs and as a BS chemist, unless you want to be doing low paying scut work the rest of your life, you need professional or graduate scool. With good GRE scores and contacts I managed to get accepted into a materials engineering program at my alma mater which I graduated from in 1996.
I have a six-figure salary in R&D with a BS in chemistry. I guess I'm fortunate.
I started grad school but realized I didn't want to spend 5 - 6 years to get a PhD.
