So what is *the* best modern FPS campaign?

I'm talking like story, innovative gameplay elements, setting, atmosphere. What is the best modern FPS campaign? Modern Warfare 1, MW2, MW3, BF3, MOH, etc etc.

I just finished Metro 2033. That's my vote.

It's got a good story, GREAT setting and atmosphere and a few innovative gameplay mechanisms too (I loved how ammo is also currency....so a spray and pray approach had consequences).

I felt Black Ops was pretty good till I played the first bit and basicly never fired a shot and let the other guys do it.. IT FELT pretty good till i seen I wasnt effecting it .

personally The Uncharted games are the best "in a movie" games I have ever seen.. not sure if its the better then average writing, voice acting or? Some games have a pretty good story but such crap exacution it takes you right out of it.. And even good voice acting can make a crap story better.. but its a double edged sword.. liem nelson is a great actor.. but hearing his voice in a game just takes me out of it.. great voice actor but far to recongniseble.. like having james Earl Jones do voicework.. I will never see the characer in the game.. But will think of James everytime he talks.

Modern Warfare 1. I still go back to the game and play through the campaign once in a while. Just overall a cool and exciting campaign with a well-paced narrative.

System Shock 2, Bioshock, Metro 2033 are all good choices as is MW1.
I would add HL2 and EP1 and 2 in there as well.

Planetside 2 is MMO not single player. Team Fortress and Counter Strike are both multiplayer only games. Bots don't count, there's no story to play through. Did you guys read the title or just see FPS and go all fanboy mode?

Metro 2033, Bioshock, MW1. Some people liked borderlands but it wasn't for me. Hopefully Far Cry 3 delivers the goods cause I could not get into Far Cry 2. It was too barren a landscape with way too much driving around.

Deus Ex or FEAR are the newest FPSes I would even bother making note of for their campaigns and FEAR isn't universally loved.

Yeah now that I think about it FEAR was the last shooter I really enjoyed. Everything else I like came before that. Far Cry. UT2004. BF1942 (also the last EA game I liked).
