So what is the avg. cost of a ~1mb+ DSL line? Who offers the fastest lines?

I have read around the net of people claiming to have 1-4mb connections for really cheap. I am tired of my 640/256 line but don't have other options without dropping some major cash. I can have a 1mb to and fro line for $250-$300 a month, how is it some people can get these fat pipes for so much less than me? BTW I am in the NW Washington State area.

Many people get them because of their jobs. Some work out of their home offices and some need them for working on projects while at home.

I know that in upstate NY, Verizon's 7.1Mbps Business DSL is ~$220 per month. And it is sweet. But alas, I must move on, and will be using RoadRunner for the forseable future....

BMdoobieW, can you give me more info on this? I'm in Central NY and would love to get in on Verizon's 7.1Mbps Business DSL line. I was planning on getting a 5Mbs plan at a colocation site in CA, but if I can get in on the full 7.1 Mbs business line, it would be so much better, and cheaper. Is it ideal to host a site using Verizon's plan? I plan on running 6 servers with decent amount of traffic. Any restrictions on the plan?
