So what is the appropriate reaction at a restaurant if you were served a raw chicken breast?

I cut it, did not really look, started chewing, noticed the odd texture, looked, cut breast in half - still half raw.

What would you have done?

Ask to see the manager...then send it back.

Undercooked wouldn't piss me off but raw is pretty bad...

politely called the waiter over, showed him the raw chicken, asked for something else.

Id make a big stink to the manager, and maybe report it to the local health department or whoever looks after restaurants for that area... undercooked chicken is a serious health hazard

Send it back with a note and a 12 inch bowie knife stuck in it...

wasn't quite dead yet...

I would make a scene... stand up, yell the waiter over, and DEMAND they call 911.

Make a big enough scene, and you might get some free things.

Well, I had a fit with the manager, left, did not pay for anything. . .

I was just curious. I felt since it was chicken and a health hazard, I needed to be succint in my contempt because now if I get sick, they can't say they did not know there was a problem.

To those that would be calm about this, I admire your attitude - I just have this deep seated feeling that when you go pay 30$ for a family meal, you are not only paying for the food, but for the experience.

It is not a good experience to have raw meat served. Especially chicken. I admit it, it pissed me off majorly.

I'd roll the dice and eat it. It's not everyday you have an opportunity to try something new like this. It could be a tremendous learning experience or a great bar story about how you cheated death and ate raw chicken. Big pimpin'
