I tried overclocking it it worked... I went to the movies came back just kept restarting. I tried clearing CMOS it worked but still kept restarting. I am trying to re-install windows but it doesn't even ask if I can boot from CD.

Any seuggestions or should I take it up to PC Club?

Any clicking sounds from the drive?

To boot from CD change your settings in BIOS to put the optical drive as the 1st boot device.

It's detecting the HDD... everything works fine up untill it trys to boot windows and my CPU is rnning at about 36 degrees which is kinda hot but I put more Thermal Compound on because it didn't have much. I am about to go Re-Install windows should I repair it or jsut Re-Install it?

Sounds like your overclock caused data corruption to me.

If you can restore a copy of a previous registry saved by system restore that will get you up and running I bet.

I agree with Odin, you probably corrupted the hard drive when you overclocked. Either your board doesn't have a PCI lock(which would be unusual for any modern board), or your ram wan't 100% stable, and corrupted the hard drive.

I'd run a couple things like chkdsk in the recovery console before going through a reinstall...

I'd give this a try as well. boot to recovery console, and use chkdsk /f

Well thanks guy's for all your help. I repaired windows and it works I guess the Overclock corrupted soemthing to make it reboot all the times.

Thanks again.

and for future reference make sure your CD-ROM has high priority in boot order because I saw you mentioned it was not booting off a CD either 🙂
