What question?
If you're referring to whether he was qualified to run as a natural born citizen then absolutely the question was raised. It was even discussed in the US Senate etc.
Despite many comments to the contrary, others have been questioned. Aside from McCain, Goldwater's qualification was also questioned (he was born in a US terrority that became a state only later).

Exactly. And it was determined by a unanimous, but ultimately non-binding senate resolution, that he is indeed a "natural born citizen." The bottom line is that, as a legal matter, the term "natural born citizen" has never been defined, and the Constitution is silent on that matter.
There's been some question as to whether McCain was actually born in a US Base, blah blah blah, but it's just as ridiculous as the controversy surrounding Obama. Unlike McCain, Congress saw no reason, based on the information it received, to raise this issue regarding Obama. If there was legitimate evidence behind Obama being born outside of the United States, it would have already been raised by his opponents. I know from experience that an incredible amount of posturing goes on behind closed doors down at our capital.
Instead, tinfoil hat people are grasping at straws about the wording used by the Chief Medical Officer of Haiwaii when he gave his statement saying he had seen Obama's birth certificate and it was valid, etc etc. It's all part of the dance. Obama is smart to just ignore it. Hell, you can see a falsified Kenyan birth certificate online if you like.
Ironically, Obama has sponsored legislation making it clear that any individual born to a citizen in a US Military base while on military duty is a natural born citizen.
