So what happens if I get a fender bender in the same place twice?

I was just thinking today. I got into a little fender bender. Lady was at fault so her insurance had to pay. Now my question is, if I was hit again in the bumper while it was still not fixed, and there was no evidence that further damages were accrued, can I make them pay me for that bumper (assuming it was there fault)? Essentually, I would get money 2x for the same bumper. Is that possible or would the insurance just look at it and say they won't pay since the damage was already there?

Just to make things a more clear, the 2nd accident would involve a separate party. I'm not saying I'm gonna go do it and find out. It's not like I'll go and rip off the same insurance/party twice.

Nah, i'm not gonna try it. I was just wondering cuz there have been a couple of incidents that cars have come really close to hitting me because they couldn't stop on the icy roads. It's a legitimate and serious question.

I was in a similar situation, my friend was driving my car since I was feeling sick and rear ended another friend's car that we were following. Broken grill and bent hood for my car. Then the next day I was taking him home and slipped on snow on the highway and totaled the car. oops. But we never figured out what happened to the previous damage since insurance never got back to me about it.

It happened to my dad. Someone hit us and it wasn't that much damage, but insurance wouldn't cover it because it was insignificant with no witnesses.

Later on someone hit the bumper even worse on another side, and the insurance was going to cover it all because of witnesses. They ended up fixing both problems for a paint cost of $1000.

Usually you have to submit a bill to get paid from the Ins Co. And since you'll only have one bill fixing it, you can probably only get paid once. Unless the two people who hit you happened to be insured with different Ins Co's, then you could maybe get away with it. But it's still illegal. heh.
