So what happens after Return Of The Jedi?

If that's the way you feel, you probably shouldn't even read the original trilogy novels. Besides Lucas, Donald Glut and James Kahn had a hand in writing the "Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi", and Lawrence Kasdan assisted in writing the screenplay of "Return of the Jedi".

As I mentioned earlier, Lucas's firm controlls all the Star Wars books that are published. ALl publications have to go thru their review process and be approved. So, when it comes down to it, like it or not, Lucas officially approved of Chewie being killed off.

Actually, in the original ROTJ pre-screenings, the Millenium Falcon did not make it out of the Deathstar explosion. That would make Chewie, Lando, and that other alien guy all toast. They changed the ending due to the reactions people gave in the pre-screenings of ROTJ.

WOW are they ever going to be make episode 7,8,9 and whod be in them? If it is set 25 years in the future you could have the same actors from Episodes 4,5,6! Now that would be better and more interesting than the episode 1,2,3 trilogy.
