It is quite simple really. It is not a good thing that drug cartels, based in Mexico, feel they have the latitude to intimidate American police, or that their smuggling activities have made areas of American soil unsafe for American citizens to enjoy.

The two threads you linked our indicators of our failed immigration and war on drugs policies.

Previous Administrations failed to address these issues because it was politically inconvenient to do so. Obama was proving to do the same until the state of AZ forced his hand.

Oh wait.... you can't... the area is off limits to U.S. citizens... because the border patrol does not want to haul your sun-dried carcass out of the desert.

So yes wise JediYoda.. although not ceded on paper... the Federal government has ceded these lands to drug and illegal alien smuggling operations.

The funny thing is it is laughable that you actually believe the Republicans can win the next presidential election!

In my opinion Obama will be a one term presiudent!
The Democrats will still win Presidential the election and the next elect after that.
