my uncle just gave me his computer because he was building a new one and i wanted to get a new case for it, so what do u guys think about this...
this case

I prefer more minimalistic styles, and this case is just about everything but that.

I wouldn't buy it. But you are the person shopping. Its made by a good company, so its probably a quality case. If it boats your float, go for it.

I also prefer cases that some might call "boring" or "plain" (however, I like to think of them as "elegant").

Therefore, that particular one does not interest me.

Right now I prefer this one:

I also like this one, but it doesn't have as many openings for cooling, just some slots on the underside of the front panel and my comp sits on carpet so I don't think it would work too well for me:

So, that's where I'm coming from.

this case apparently has 90mm fans... arent most fans 80, 92, or 120mm case fans? i would think 90mm fans would be odd and possibly annoying if u wanted to replace the stock fans...

i will also vote along w/ the others in this thread when it comes to the idea i prefer more 'plain' cases to the over the top extravagent cases like that one.

Agreed. Looks like a circus box. And I absolutely hate those drive bay doors....the person who thought that up should be shot. It ruins a lot of potentially good cases.

Personally I don't think I would buy a thermaltake case...I don't like their designs and overall they rip off other cases for them. However, I haven't really heard BAD things about their construction or anything, so if your set on getting the case, go ahead.

agreed w/ everyone else, besides, if you want an extravagent case like that, mod it yourself. I goto a lot of lans, and i hate seeing cases like that, its like rice....for computer cases, its just bad, all that crap on there is just distracting, i dont mind some glamour and flash as long as its CLEAN and not distracting. but in the end...who cares what others think, isnt it all about what you like?

Well I still use my full tower from( even pre ) the PII266 days
It?s still has a sticker ?powered by Matrox? from ?millennium II? days

I upgraded it with a few fans but that?s it

Every time I think of saying goodbye I see on of those ?door? cases

That's making me sick to my stomach, as is the double posting 😛
Really though, way too much going on! Eye-catching is one thing.... that's more like eye-gouging.

i'm with you, boss. give me the flash. i'm like a black man with a cadillac. i want everything on that mofo to shine! i like the lanmoto with a 480 butterfly psu.

Yeah, that is a bit too ricey for me, but the basic chassis is as good as any - several Enermax case models (and models of other brands) are based on the same chassis with a more conservative facade. And 90mm fans aren't hard to find. http://www.bgmicro.com usually has several at low prices (but you may have to rig the connection as many there use non-computer standard connectors or have none at all, just wires). I like the Kingwin 424 series...

I have a V8000A, so I can tell you all about it. First thing, the red on the front is just ugly, I disassembled the front door and spraypainted the red front a glossy black and it made the case look 10X better. Next thing you will need to do is rearrange the fan setup. Put the 2 blue 90mm LED fans on the side as intake, and the black/orange 90mm fan on the back as exhaust. You also have an 80mm on the front as intake (but is basically worthless) and an 80mm on top as exhaust (also basically worthless). The fan control knobs on the front are kinda nice, I'm still gonna get a fan controller though. The little light-up front thing is kinda annoying, I just gutted the switch out of my case (black box with on/off/flash switch).

The case is real easy to work with. Plenty big, maybe even too big. It's not very tall, but the case is very long, kinda strange. It does not do very much for quiet, then again it is a TT. You might end up replacing the fans and getting a fan controller if you are concerned about noise.

if it's free, take it.

but if you're going to be paying $150 for it, you're better off with a mid-range Lian Li or CoolerMaster box.

round up to the nearest 50 🙂.

the flashiest case i'll ever get is the antec super lanboy. i think it would look reaaaally rad wtih a lanparty mobo.
