I think it'll be the BiAthlon.


Since athlon4 is alread taken, you can't name it the athlon2, but Bi will not only indicate the second generation design, but will also emphasize the fact that it goes both ways (64 bit, 32 bit, or both at the same time)

Its simply THE perfect name :D

I read on the Inquirer a few of the names that AMD have trademarked recently. The search function seems pretty useless and I can't find the article, but all the names listed were pretty horrible. Duron isn't much better than the ones listed though, but then neither is Celeron.

Those names are awful.

I think ClawHammer is perfectly fine. There's actually no reason to think AMD will drop the ClawHammer name. The K7 architecture wasn't codenamed anything but just K7 to my knowledge. Finally, AMD came up with Athlon and Duron. With the K8 architecture, it simply looks like they released the names earlier.

ClawHammer is a great name for a processor. :)

Probably Athlon5 ... it'll also give AMD the "advantage" since Pentium4 sounds slower than Athlon5.

I hope they stick to Hammer, but knowing the morons in Sunnyvale's marketing department, they'll probably pick Sanguiron or something.

It should be something catchy, easy to remember for Joe-Six-Pack.. something people can associate with and something that seems user friendly...

"My PC runs off an Epox 9KHLAJS+ and I'm overclocking my Stinky Underwear by 30%!!"

Ok.. so, well.. I can relate to it at least.. errrr... :confused:
