I do all the merchandising, selling, cleaning, maintenance, buying, customer service, bookkeeping, organizing, stocking, shipping, receiving, advertising, network managing, and general technical supporting of a small retail business specializing in clothing and footwear.

CG/VFX artist.
I work from home mostly in my own studio doing contract work, I have worked in several commercial studios, but like the freelance world more . I love it. I can work as much or as little as I like as long as the work gets done on time. Nothing compares to creating a character from nothing ,modeling, texturing , then adding the rigging and doing the animations. It really feels like creating a new life ! It isn't for everyone though. Often a character can take a couple weeks to complete and not everyone could endure staring at the same character for hours and hours just to get the mouth to move like I want. Or animating scenes that take days to do just 30 seconds of live action.

I started out as an EE and had some big name employers, GE, Cray, but I would never go back. I liked the creativity of EE work, but hated being bound to budgets, marketing, and the general corporate methodology.

Engineer major who sucks at job searching, and can't find anything in this crappy construction climate.

For shits and giggles (plus money), doing temp work while getting harrassed by senior staff about my being overqualified.

PACS Admin

I'm on a team that manages about 400 radiology/cardiology workstations and the 50 some image/gateway/archive/web servers that connect them. We've got about 300 terrabytes worth of Xray/CT/MRI/Cath/Echo images and cine-clips under our management.

Nice choice. Know two people doing that, and there's a shortage in it right now. Beaucoup money, and an unfortunate large and unending number of clients.

Interesting, I work in a Hospital myself so I sorta get to see what is involved with PACS though we don't directly support it (a dedicated group does that). We just rolled out the new Impax 6 client recently which ties into our servers more as it uses LDAP to authenticate.

I work as a level 3 server tech which is a job I got recently. I was working at the helpdesk before. One thing about a hospital environment is the pressure is always on, so it's something to get used to.

Graphic Design student. I'm going to intern next summer and hopefully build a portfolio and enough decent connections to land a good job after graduation.

Lost my job cuz of the current situation. Now I am full time college using my GI Bill. Going into business. Engineering didnt work out too well for me.

Hopefully I can get as much money out of it as possible before Obama takes it away. Dont get me wrong, I really like the guy. But during the campaign both him and his buddy McCain made it clear they arent that interested in helping veterans. The way things are going I wouldn't be suprised if they take that money away within the next 4 years. Not that I'm complaining, the rest of the country probably needs it more than I do, I'd just like to get as much as I can before it happens.

Legal Operations Project Manager. Implement and support tools like contract management, document management, matter management, and support a corp legal department of about 150 attorneys/others who can't always remember that they're not supposed to install World of Warcraft on their work machines.
