So, what do you call a woman whose in the pro-public breast feeding movement?

The moves come as the number of American mothers who choose to breast-feed has climbed to about 70 percent in 2003, the last year for which information was available, from about 50 percent in 1990. Many otherwise apolitical women say they found themselves unexpectedly transformed into lactivists after fielding a nasty comment or being asked to stop nursing in public.

I don't have a problem with women breast feeding in public either. I just found the need to create a tag like "lactivist" to be hilarious.

i guess they felt like they needed a name because there is opposition to it unfortunately.

Only 70%? Wtf? Why was it 50% in 1990? Why would any woman choose not to breast feed, knowing the benefits for the baby?

If fat people are allowed to shamelessly walk around in public wearing spandex pants, milfs should be allowed to feed their babies in public without any shame too!

it isn't necessarily easy to do

you might think it is really simple/easy , just stick the baby's face up there and you are done. not so with some woman/babies

it can be difficult/hard for some people

While I am very much in support in allowing public breastfeeding, (restaurants, shopping centres etc.) there is a limit. Last year one of our politicians decided it would be a good idea to bring her baby into the parlimentary chamber and start breastfeeding. I really don't think that parliment is a good place for infants (lots of bellicose blokes yelling things at each other), let alone for breast feeding.

But then again, the baby was far better behaved than most of the politicians in the chamber, could be something there........

Cause back then baby formula was being touted as the thing to feed infants.

Touted, no doubt, by the companies that manufactured baby formula. Babies were meant by nature to breast feed, not to eat some artificial formula from an artificial nipple.
