Nearly $300 (grandparents, parents, relatives).
A laprest thing my mom put together for my laptop - keeps the thing from toasting my legs.
Some maple sugar candy, some mint/chocolate cake, and a book by Steven Hawking.
Pretty good year I think.
A laptop bag, sluggo? I bought one of them at a computer show recently for $5. Only, and I mean ONLY 2 flaws: says Compaq on the side in small lettering, and, it didn't included a laptop.

(Yes, I already have a laptop for it.)
as a matter of fact me and my closest friends basically stopped buying christmas gifts for eachother since we get each other such crappy gifts. and i don't think i got a present from my parents since the 6th grade, but whatever, i don't really mind, they've done enough for me.
Ain't got any friends to really exchange gifts with. We're sort of on an unspoken "treaty" I guess in terms of that. We all suck at buying gifts. (No girls involved yet, unfortunately.

)
That's why I always hint/request that I get money instead of presents. That way they know I'll get something I actually will like.
If I'd tell my parents I'd like a KT266A motherboard with good BIOS overclocking capabilities and onboard surround sound, with an AGP slot and at least 5 PCI slots, they'd probably just stare like a startled deer.
