I think My Elevation gets the phone's coordinates and consults a database for elevation, sends it back to the phone. Somehow the elevation shown barely vacillates if at all. GPS Test's elevation OTOH swings wildly. It's strange.

GPS test is purely relying on the satellite data (plus some agps data I think).
