Hopefully the fortune cookie that told me I was coming into money soon is right.

Currently broke/not working right:

DVD burner - hates ALL DVD media & reads slower than sh!t
MS Mouse - double clicks for every 1 click, MS has yet to send replacement (3 weeks)
Videocard - has a slight blur effect on high resolutions
and my dog today chewed the antenna off my cordless phone :|

DAMNIT - I hope the tooth fairy, dead relative, lottery or something comes through.

I'm sure someone out there has it worse than me, so lets hear it.

Suck it up and suffer, you worthless piece of excrement. :Q GOD is obviously pissed off at you and there is nothing you can do about it.

The red is almost completely out on my monitor, I can live with it for a little while though. no $$$ right now for a new one.

WTF😕 - got sand in the vagina again?

My freakin ATI 9800 pro AIW 128mb....or maybe its aomething else.....no time to try to figure the crap out either.

Rant.....

1. My 18 month old Dell 1800FP 18" LCD. :disgust:

Lent it to my niece for college, but she ends up dropping it about 8" while bringing it to the dorm. At this point I could have asked for a replacement (3 year warranty) since there is no visible damage. She decides to put an aromatic candle under the dead monitor. Heat from the candle melts the bottom left side of the front panel cover. Now I'm out of $451 I paid Dec 2002.

Replaced it with a Dell 2001FP which I'm keeping with me.

2. Samsung Digimax 230 2.1 MP Digital camera. Dropped about 3 feet on carpet. LCD display dead but can still get pictures.

3. Sound Blaster Audigy OEM. Died after about 2 years of use.

4. Dying Maxtor 80GB HDD (clicking). No readable files under Windows XP, tells drive is not formated, etc. Managed to recover all the data intact to another HDD. Still under warranty till July 2005. Will RMA before that date.

Got a furnace with a couple of things wrong with it; probably expensive things. I should probably get it fixed before winter, though.

Got one mailserver that started crashing every five minutes when there was a 100 degree day out here. I don't think the problem was the temperature per se, because the problems only started happening after 5:30 PM when everybody came home from work and turned on their air conditioning, causing the line voltage to drop by ten volts. After 10:00PM that evening, it hasn't had a moment's trouble.

Otherwise, all the computers, video gear, and other electronics are working great.

What brand, and how old? I want to be sure not to buy one of the same. Yours should still be under warranty, no?

MS Mouse - double clicks for every 1 click, MS has yet to send replacement (3 weeks)

Call again. Should take 3 or 4 business days... tops!

Videocard - has a slight blur effect on high resolutions

How do you know it ain't the monitor? How old is it? What brand & model? What resolution and frequency? What card?

...and my dog today chewed the antenna off my cordless phone

Yeah well, everybody knows you have to have pets. This ish comes with the territory.

HLDS GMA-4020B - it's over 1yr old & out of warranty.
Oddly enough it will read & write CD's but only makes a clicking sound with DVD media.

Will do.

9600, again over a year & OOW. Tested on another monitor & same results. Running 1600x1200@85 & anything higher than 1024x768 the blurring begins - it's very mild but noticable.

No idea how the phone ended up in the floor but he knows better. When I caught him he looked up at me like "ah sh!t, I'm going to get it"

Heh, the hot water in the kitchen faucet is spotty, the drain doesn't drain, the bathtub leaks, and the freezer doesn't freeze. I love my apartment for the summer.

everything is perfect in my apartment 🙂 the landlord just finished renovating the whole place... as soon as he's done painting and re-wiring the electric, I'm moving in 😀

hehe.

we haven't moved in yet, so we haven't had time to break anything. move-in day is July 1st, though, so just give us some time 😉

i just have crappy furniture..my chair is missing a wheel so it doesnt roll so well, still fine to sit in though 😛
my desk is missing the keyboard tray..i didnt keep the keyboard on it, but i did use it like a drawer for other things.. not too big a deal though 😉

i guess i also have a NIC that sometimes stops working.. works again if i restart the machine it is in... mildly annoying

Seems like lots of people have more computer hardware problems than house problems. My house related problems is that I got a shower head that that sprays water everywhere, CLR or any lime cleaner can't help. 2 outta 4 of my stove burners don't work, I don't know why either, but then I don't usually use all 4 anyways. Otherwise everything works great..

Logitech Z680s, right rear speaker is blown
Desk lamp needs a light bulb
Daughter spilled something on my microsoft gamepad
CD burner always gives an error when burning audio cds (but the cds work fine?)
guitar needs new strings since one broke and now one string stands out from all the rest
logitech mouse spazzes out sometimes and just stops moving (i think its a driver issue?)

HTPC: After going nuts for 2 weeks I discovered the case reset button was randomly shorting! :| Once I discovered the issue, I also discovered the vid card got fried, probably from the constant resetting...

standalone dvd player: Not broken, but the remote sensor is TOO sensitive! Every other device's remote makes the DVD player do something stupid.. Like bringing up a menu or something. :|

Cars? Well...

My shower drain smells like mold. Need to run some bleach down it. Really gross, particulalry since I'm anal about my bathroom being clean.

The bad storm the other night made the roof leak. Not cool.
One storm doesn't "make a roof leak". I'd check flashing, probably around the chimney.

You can buy a shower head for less than that bottle of CLR. Is your stove gas? Make sure it's level.

ooh, thought of something.

my computer desk has been falling apart for the past few months. I've had to move some furniture under it to keep it from collapsing in on itself.

I'm buying a new (hopefully glass) desk for my new apartment, though, as my current desk -- even if it weren't falling apart at the seams -- is way too big.
