Hi all,

Now that Nvidia has bought 3dfx their(3dfx's) stocks fell down damn 90% (i owned 100 of them for gods sake !!!). What will happen when 3dfx is no more. Will they be exchanged for Nvidia ones ore simply lost ? If anyone has any knowledge about this type of market changes please let me know.

Regards

If 3dfx dissolves, then the stock will be worthless. However, if there is any money left over after 3dfx pays off its debts and management gets its cut, then the stockholders might see a few cents coming their way (unlikely though).

A more likely scenario is that the 3dfx stockholders do not approve the nVidia deal (because the stockholders will not receive any $ from it), and then 3dfx will file for Chapter 11 bankrupcy, and meanwhile a couple companies might start bidding for their IP assets. With a bidding war, they could probably get more that the $200 mill (or whatever) that nVidia was offering them. In this scenario, the TDFXQ stock might actually go up a bit during the bidding war. It's a big risk, but if you buy at the current price, you might actually make some money.
