*Driving to Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ (5 hours from Boston) to check out safari and theme park. (We already been to SF New England many times)

*Lodging one night on Saturday and come back Sunday.

*We were hoping to visit Safari all day Saturday and visit the theme park all day Sunday. But turns out Safari only take two hours. We'll do both on Saturday.

*So... WTF is there to do on Sunday around Jackson, NJ?

*Atlantic City is out of the question since it's another 90 mins SOUTH from Six flags = Too much driving back to Boston.

The Safari is not an all day thing, think we went through it in a couple of hours when I took the family. I'm still pissed that the monkeys are now behind a freaking fence, that was the best part when I was a kid.

You can visit the shore. If you want casinos you can start heading back and hit the ones in CT.

Wow I am surprised people are still willing to drive through the safari with gas prices as high as they are. Especially after a 5 hour drive from boston. I would be freaking our and wanting to get out and walk around after 5 hours in a car.

There is a huge outlet mall very close by. It could be good to kill a few hours.

The outlet mall up the road from there is probably my favorite outlet mall. I get 90% of my clothing there. At least once a year when I make the 6 hour drive to Jersey, I'll spend about half a day at the outlet mall.

Alternative - why not grab season tickets and go to Great Adventure both days? If there's any sort of crowd there at all, you'll never be able to do everything you want to in one day.
Heck, if the average wait per coaster is 30 minutes, that's 6 hours right there. Toss in some more waiting for the log flumes & grizzly rapids, stopping for lunch, and you're nearly out of time for the other rides.

No, not jersey gardens. It's Jackson Outlet Mall. I know people who go down, drop the teens off at Great Adventure, and then spend the day shopping.

You could go to the hospital and get treated for the stab wounds you'll inevitably get by virtue of being in Jersey.

It's called "Jackson premium outlets"

It's funny, I live 20 minutes from Great adventure and haven't been there in 15 years

Don't drink the local water there. I'm being very very very serious.

Say hi to New York for me, because that's all you're going to see at Great Adventure... dirty New Yorkers.
