So, we're going to Napa Valley next weekend...

We are staying at a B&B for 3 nights. I would like to go to Schramsberg, and also spend a day at San Francisco. Besides this I don't know where else to go and what to see. Any suggestions?

f*ck merlot

I was there this past October. I visited the Robert Mondavi Winery and enjoyed the tour (except it costs $25) but you get some wine tasting. They also let us eat the grapes right off the vine.

I visited the V Sattui winery for lunch and it had a nice deli with cheese, bread, meats:

I visited Muir Woods north of San Fran and would recommend it.

Argh! You missed it by a couple of days...

they are closed till the 18th 🙁
Usually during this time, it's possible to grab a seat if you just show up, and it is pretty awesome food.

stay off the wine train...it's expensive and takes you to garbage spots.

you have to go to Vi Satui (sp?). Go there (but a little early) for lunch. they have a great market and picnic area for people. I've always liked Franciscan too. If you can swing it...try to finagle a tour of Opus One or Far Niente.

My last trip up, I went to a a very small place that has excellent wine, very cheap tasting. I'll try to remember that and get back to you...

Thanks! Does anyone live around there? Accuwaether says it's 50 outside in Napa - the same temp as in Chicago 🙁

My bro lives in Menlo Park...and I hear the temp is close to those of us in Chi-town right now....

Odd, though; b/c Napa tends to stay much warmer than the rest of that area. I usually go in the spring and end of summer...so I couldn't give an accurate account of the weather this season.
