...has these containers in the bed of his truck that fly towards us (3 large blue containers)! We barely swerve past em, but we were scared that other people will hit em. So, I called 911 and 2 minutes later 2 police cars fly past us (searching for more boxes).

EDIT: I pressed Enter instead of Tab. I edited the post in. ;)

Glad you got a positive response. I called 911 one night to report construction barrels all over the road and the dispatcher told me "that isn't an emergency" and hung up on me after telling me to call the department of roads.

It was midnight.

my ex and i missed a flying 4X8 sheet of plywood by about 15 feet one night a couple years ago...i pulled up to the driver and yelled at him that his cargo was coming loose and he acknowledged me and then kept driving for several miles so i called highway patrol on him...dunno if they stopped him, i exited shortly after

it scared the ****** out of both of us...we thought it was coming through my windshield even though i hit the brakes...couldn't swerve due to traffic

My car was HIT by a 8x6 sheet.

I was lucky...it was dark and hard to see. It landed flat against my windshield (at about 65MPH)....then the wind just picked it up and blew it away.

It didn't damage my car at all (how..I don't know). If it would have hit with an edge I would have been in some trouble.

I got stabbed in the hand with a piece of glass Friday night at work and spent 4 hours in the hospital watching bond movies and Conan O'Brien.

I told the doctor to take as much time as he needed because he had a couple of critical patients... and I was on overtime... didn't have to clock out until I got back to work. heh.

Not worth having 4 stiches in my hand and a sore arm from a tetanus shot, but oh well.

Yes, I know this has nothing to do with road hazards, but I just wanted to add my bit of weekly misfortune to the dying thread.

one time I was on the interstate and a full size mattress fell off of a truck right in front of me. I slowed down and managed not to hit it, I stopped in front of it and put on my emergency lights and moved it out of the road. I didn't want to think of what would happen if a car ran over that at 65 miles an hour.

Had a pice of 2 x 4 fly up onto my motobike front wheel and snap upon impact. Another perfectly good pair of pants ruined.
