Someone, just straight-up tell me, please. Do I need a 20 or 24 pin PSU for the DFI Lanparty UT Ultra-D board? If I don't need the full ATX 2.0 spec, I can save a bundle of money. Help...

Looks like 24 pins in AnandTech's pics, though I don't see how you're saving a "bundle of money." You can just use an adapter if your PSU is good enough.

From DFI:

"All the new DFI NF4 based motherboards support both 20-pin and 24-pin
power supplies. It is recommended that a higher wattage power supply
with the 24-pin connector be used for utmost stability. Combined with
the onboard power regulating components and the flexible BIOS options,
these new DFI boards can deliver performance without compromising
stability!

Best regards,"

Personally I would not use an adapter, I don't trust them. If the 20-pin PSU turns out to be problematic, I would save some pennies to get a new one. You don't need expensive EPS power supplies, ATX2.0 will do.
