/me expects people to go places with the topic title.

But seriously... why not? Why didn't Ed McMuffin get a sticky when he passed away? Each of them were notable and famous.

:|

Because neither Ed's death nor Farrah's death resulted in half a dozen reposts within the first half hour of the announcement. Threads aren't stickied because we feel the person was relatively important; they're stickied because of the likelihood of reposts. It was given a 3 day sticky until things die down.

Also, your question belongs in forum issues, not OT. -Anandtech Moderator DrPizza

Because neither of them spawned 50 reposts.

Also, I haven't seen anyone say "Who?" ni regard to Michael Jackson.

not all celebrities are created equal.

Michael Jackson is one of the most famous people in the world, far above Farrah or Ed in terms of worldwide name recognition.

calling Ed McMahon famous is a little bit of a stretch...

he was known, but certainly not a 'star'. same for Farrah.

Farrah was huge. There was a few years when it was hard to find a teen boy who didn't have a Farrah poster in his room (except Michael, of course).

They simply aren't Micheal Jackson. I have no idea who those two other people you are speaking of... I didn't grown up in the states, so I don't know them. I know Micheal Jackson tho..

Of the 3, which was the king of Pop?

Farrah was a poster and a bunch of bad movies.

Ed McMahon... not that famous.

Just cause he's famous doesn't mean he wasn't a child molesting freak.

Ed McMahon and Farah Fawcett were better human beings.

just because some lady decided to accuse him doesn't mean he's guilty.

all the thousands of kids who passed through Neverland and there wasn't a single set of parents who weren't willing to be bought off or a guard/maid/whatever who wasn't willing to risk their job? it just doesn't jive with me.

Regardless, if you wanna go by better human beings.. hundreds maybe thousands of great charitable people die every day.

King of pop > "better human beings" in terms of air time.

What I mean is, MJ is all we're hearing about.

When Farrah Fawcett arrived in Heaven God granted her one wish. She wished for all the children of the world to be safe. So He killed Michael Jackson.

Because nobody cares about Ed McMuffin or some old pin up girl from the 70s who's only claim to fame was that she was hot once.

Seriously, Johnny Carson's sidekick? Really?
