Years ago, when Anand was a young man, he started a web site on computer hardware. As the popularity of the site grew, he brought on people to help run the forums. These people were to become know as Moderators.
The Moderators were given power to set rules for the forums.
A user by the name of "nef" used to post worthless drivel, much like most of your posts. The Moderators banned him because of his posts (as they will hopefully with maxster's new account) and soon after made a rule against "neffing". (You will recall that Anand gave the Moderators this power)
When the thread you referenced was created, the OP consulted with the Moderators and was given the approval for the continuance of the thread. (You will recall that Anand gave the Moderators this power)
There you have the reason for the number of pages in that thread.

The movie was better. Sal Mineo was unavailable. Casting Charleton Heston as Harvey then really made the film. The political discussions between the two on the set were said to be legendary.

It's not widely known, but Harvey did all the special effects, like parting the Red Sea, himself.
