I've been waiting for them to bring halo to the pc for months! Where the h*ll is it?

Yep, Halo for the PC will be out, but not til next year (probably around summer).
Halo 2 will probably be out for Xbox before the orig comes to PC.

Yep, it goes back to M$'s early insistences that the XBox was neither a PC, nor a PC substitute (though we know better from autopsies 😉 ). They don't want their platform to directly compete with the PC, and we all know that software sales drives hardware sales in the case of platform gaming....

so what's the deal with xbox emulators? I know as of now, there supposedly aren't any working ones. But it should be possible, right?

hmm, that's probably true. But the Xbox is only a P3 700 w/ something like a GF3, right? So even if the emulator was slow, with the processor speeds we have now, it shouldn't be that bad

It was supposed to be a PC title. Then microsoft bought them and used them as leverage to sell xboxes. Sure halo is a great game and I'll miss playing it but that whole situation pissed me off so much I didn't buy an xbox and I'm not going to buy halo.
If they want the 'killer app' to sell xboxes they should frickin write it, not piss off the hardcore gamers by converting a great game into vaporware.
