Got my iPad smashed in a motorcycle accident (bag fell off my motorcycle with the iPad in it). Wondering if I should go out and buy a replacement now or wait a couple months for a new generation iPad.

the old one is quite fine but a camera input would be nice. even if through usb. otherwise whats the point of making the new one. they are sitting on way too much stock now that ipod 4 is out.

FBB, as a former motorcycle rider, and for the sake of Apple products, sell the bike, buy a refurbished iPad from the Apple store...

I'm leaning towards this... Camera for FaceTime, Gyro.. all of the new stuff the iPod Touch has, just no retina display. The video that would be needed for that resolution on the iPad would be insane. It could be worth waiting for, even if its in April.

Maybe a camera? Probably a more thicker square design like the new iPhone.
A lot more can be improved by firmware updates, rather than hardware.
Expect to see OS updates first... That would be nice to see before xMas.

The genius at the apple store told me they were targeting November for the iOS 4 for the iPad.

Maybe... I could see the SD card before the USB though. If however iOS was to reach the point where it can stand on its own without having to sync back to a computer, then we might start seeing things like USB ports.

I agree that the USB port is less likely than an SD slot.

What I don't understand about the post I originally replied to is how someone could think there is nothing that could be added to improve the iPad.
