Are they a group of sadist or what? Or is there a logical explanation for this?

Just heard from a co-worker who had kidney stones (both sides), and had 3 separate out-patient visits to get them out. He had a stint (I have no idea what that is, will wiki after this) put thru his penis that's 18" long and thick like a udon noodle. Long story short, during his last visit, the doctor grab the string and ripped it out without warning and no pain killer. He yelped like a guy trying to give birth. He's complaining to me that he wasn't ready and wasn't warned.

Well, I guess if the doctor told you, you may tense up and cause more pain? And how are you ever going to be ready for something like this. Or maybe if you pull it off fast like a band-aid, you will experience less pain.

Another guy I know had urinary tract infection, and had a similar "silly string" in him for testing. the nurse also surprised him and removed it like she's trying to start a lawn mower.

Sounds like some sort of foley/in dwelling catheter. Regardless, they're generally not yanked out and can be removed with little pain to the patient.

I've had 4 kidney stones and I'd have to say the best way to deal with them is if they pass on their own. It hurts like hell, but its much better than sitting in the water tank with the ultrasonic blasting you.
