My LG G3 shit the bed, it won't recognize the sim card, I was able to shim the sim card with paper for a while but now it won't work at all.

I'd like to upgrade a bit, looking at the LG G5. Wal-Mart is selling the LG G5 unlocked for $268 with free 2 day shipping. Sounds like it should work with Verizon but I wanted someone better with phones to confirm before I order.

Most likely not. This is unlocked ATT GSM. It would work on any ATT or TMobile service plans & mvno service plans, but not Sprint & Verizon. Verizon is very strict about letting non-branded devices on their network. Funny though, almost any Verizon lte phone will work on Tmobile & ATT.

If you don't mind buying used or second hand(many new for resale), check out Swappa. I have purchased my last 4 phones from there. I have also sold several phones there. Very easy and painless. Never had any issues or problems.

Unless it's an LG phone. I have the lgv10 and LG V20 and they are vzw branded but never get 4glte on Verizon. Only H or h+.
