We had a real analysis exam from 8 to 10 this morning. Around 9 oclock, one kid practically gave up, and handed in what he had....and around 930 or so, people started to hand in their exams. Each person that handed the exam, the teacher asked him "are you sure?" did you get the last problem? you still have time..."

so then, the teacher said he will give us an extra 30 minutes to do the exam....

so then, at around 930 or a bit after, one kid handed in the exam and walked out the door. The teacher immediately ran out the door and started arguing with him....saying like "why give up? you didnt prove this right yet? come back, do it....how can you give up like that? you still have time..." so this went on for like 10 minutes, so loud...and the student eventually came back.

so the rest of us just sat here till the end of exam time, for fear of getting up....:Q

Never seen anything like this. I guess your professor really cares about you.

I feel like there should be more to the story.

well, not much...so the prof argued with the kid, and the kid argued back about his solution to the proof, and back and forth...and eventually, the student came back in and did his problem...

I mean, so the rest of us just waited till 1030 to hand in the exam, so the teacher didn't have time to look at each paper to talk to us...so we just ran out as fast as possible.

Not good professor, just different. College is a joke when the highest score on a miderm or final is a 60% and that sets the curve. That's how it was in my school. They make some classes so rediculously difficult that the brightest students set the bar at a level that would normally be considered failing.

I have a story too. Finished my film and television final early (what a surprise) and headed down one of the myriad of hallways in that building. Ended up going through the wrong door and found myself in a staircase that led to the fire exit. No problem, just go back through the door I came, right/ Unfortunately, every door was locked except for the one that had a big sign that said that an alarm will sound if it was opened. Now, people are taking exams for another 45 minutes, so I can't just waltz on out and set of the fire alarm in the middle of the class, especially because I'd just asked that professor for a recommendation at the end of the test. So, I planned on waiting the 45 minutes until the test ended, and then making a break for it. About twenty minutes in though I heard someone walking around on one of the upper floors, so I ran up and started pounding on the door and got him to open it. He looked a little surprised.
