Can't believe no one has said it yet, but: shens.

Meh. The reason I wouldn't call shens is this happens fairly often in Vegas. I'm really not that surprised. I'd put my life savings on the fact that there has been a tab at least 3 times the size of this one. I'm SURE someone has probably dropped half a million to a million bucks in one night at a club in Vegas.

I mean I'm not saying it was a rapper, but these guys will spend lavishly it's all part of the "lifestyle", their "image": http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/news/...s-details-his-million-dollar-strip-club-spree - Rick Ross "breaking the bank" at King of Diamonds Strip Club (the club ran out of money, he spent over a million dollars apparently).

Probably was an athlete, as that pic first showed up on twitter by Ben Reiter of Sports Illustrated.

$189K? Which one of you big cheese ATOTers did that? Oh wait, this is real money/reality and not fantasy/make believe world such as WoW or CoD.

There was a similar story about a WallStreet guy with an AmEx unlimit card in a high end strip club in NYC. His CC company filled a lawsuit when the bill/statment arrived a few weeks later(about $200K IIRC) and he said he did not authorize it....that much.

Found it = http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9750948/ns/business-small_business/t/clueless-man-topless-bar/

I don get it. How does one cause a business to which one GIVES money, to then run-out of money?

Well the club has a certain amount of cash for the patrons to use on the strippers. The patron then takes that cash and "makes it rain" on the strippers. The strippers are the ones collecting the dollar bills, they aren't giving it back to the club, it's for their college educations ;)

I would feel horribly guilty spending that much on booze no matter how rich I was.

Those packs of bills they are opening are $1000 worth of ones, you can tell by the straps. I'm guessing most the story is BS.

I went to a club on Friday and they had these huge Grey Goose bottles like the one in that pic for like $350

The article said the club has to recycle the money from the strippers at some point. I mean, it sounds as though these guys were putting everything on a charge tab including what amounts to a cash advance for bills to give the strippers, couldn't the club just write an IOU to the stripper for the cash they are recycling back to the club??

Does not compute.

I can't specifically recall where I saw the photo before - but I'm pretty sure that's a bill from when Alex Ovechicken partied in Vegas.

Paying 8x the shelf price that you could readily find on the open retail market - EPIC FAIL!

Does that include value-added services such as hookers and blow, for chrissakes?? It damned well better.

You don't go to clubs do you? I went to one Friday night and paid $8 for a bottle of Newcastle, which is even more than 8x retail. That's how clubs stay in business.

You're suppose to use singles to "make it rain" at a strip club. A dude like Rick Ross blowing a million in 1 night between the strippers and liquor sounds reasonable. If you were to make it rain with $100's and keep it going it would add up to way more than a million bucks over the course of a night.

Those are $1 bill bricks are they not? Throwing that much money around in an exclusive strip club where millionaires are regulars, and you're giving $1 bills to the strippers? How f-ing tacky.

pretty sure the club was profiting on everything.

Yeah that tip was official so most of it went to the hotel, its just an easy way for them to add 20% profit.
The waitress or whatever probably got a couple hundred, tops.

And everything else was marked up 10,000 percent anyway.

Even for a millionaire that night was a total waste of money.

tacky? a stripper could buy a brand new car with cash the next day. Nothing tacky about tens of thousands of singles.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XWt9bJUCXY&feature=related video of Mayweather making it rain. If he did that with even 20's it would have less effect. The point of making it rain is to keep it going and going (and going) if you showered strippers for an hour non stop with $20's you'd be out millions.

Actually she couldnt. If she brought tens of thousands of singles to a car dealership they would call the NSA, IRS and Homeland Defense before giving her the keys to anything.

Not in an exclusive club like King of Diamonds, nowhere near it, but yes I've been to clubs. Yes I understand markups. I don't think I've ever paid more than 3x the going retail shelf price for any sort of booze.
