So this guy in a Prius was doing like 75...

Which is nothing surprising, but I was behind him waiting for him to pull right (Masspike). Anyway, I noticed that we was doing a little bounce. And he looked like his car was filled with a ton of bricks in the back.

So he pulls right and I glance at him and saw that... he was freaking lowered like crazy! I was like WTF. My face probably betrayed myself since I did a double take and the guy was this middle aged guy who glanced over at me as I passed him.

So can anyone with a lowered Prius explain why? I mean, no matter how low you go, you are still going to look like a fat bean. And then your ride gets destroyed as you go around bouncing up and down....

:\

I got passed on the highway the other day. The speedlimit was 65 and I was doing 72 in the right lane. Some guy in a prius passed me. Unbelievable.

Has anyone gone on a big oval track and seen how fast the prius can top out at? :awe:

My friend never does below 80 on the highway in her Prius, the MPG thing on the dash says 50mpg at that speed but I severely doubt that

I used to think lowered cars were cool.

And then I turned 14.

Seriously, some of the stuff I see on cars is like what a kid would think was cool. I don't understand what an adult sees in some of this stuff. It's just tacky.

I like lowered cars, I don't think most cars look good without even a subtle drop to them.

I can't really see myself ever not thinking a low car looks good.

I thought it looked good when I was 19 and had my first nice car, and I think it looks good 10 years later when I'll be 30 soon.

Now as for lowered trucks, I prefer lifted trucks...

Heh, strange. I've rented a Prius and at around 85MPH the engine was really buzzy and the instant MPG was around 15, and it was just about topped out.

They make lowering kits for the Pious?

Yes, but the trick is that you really have to believe it. Then, the car will lower itself.

Why doesn't anyone believe a Prius can go that fast? Google says 106 - 108 mph due to MG1 and ICE speeds.

Even my little 3cyl Insight will do 115mph ... personally I've had it to 100 and it gets there fairly quickly too. That 115 is the artificial limit and can be achieved anywhere between 3rd and 5th gears.

Sarcasm. Nobody here really believes a Prius can't do 75 mph.

That is my car. My dad was driving it, which is why it looked funny. I lowered it because it handles like it's on rails now. I autoX it constantly and generally take first place for time, even trouncing miatas, which really pisses off miata owners losing while I'm still pulling 30+ mpg while racing.

Al Gore's kid was nabbed doing triple digits in his Prius with all those prescriptions pills if memory serves.

Shens @ Prius doing 75.

I've seen priuses do 80-90. I guess the leftist retards that drive them think they can self righteously pretend to save the planet and break the law at the same time.
